My first work - and one of that kind of compositions I put my most energy in during the last time. It is a remix for a wonderful person, artist and writer, who is (like me) a poet, a dreamer, a conjurer of visions: for my friend Jeremy Clarke.
I got in contact with Jeremy some time ago, when I was publishing some ambient and drone music under my Nautilus Project moniker, on which he commented. Since then I was fascinated by his writings, his poetry and the music he put on to Soundcloud, I felt blown away by the deeper meaning of his words in combination with ambient music. I found solace in the story and the sound of his voice, the lyrics were so addictive to me, I was transfixed for weeks, mostly on his 'Praise' theme.
It seemed appropriate to do something with it, Jeremy's touching voice was perfect for my ideas, because I have spent a long time looking for such an opportunity. It was a great chance and a deep step forward for me to lay my hands on his written and spoken art, not least because I am in love with the british things, especially with such a beautiful voice.
The original, voice-only version of 'Praise' was made & written by Jeremy Clarke on location in an urban, solitary confinement cell. More about this work - and its place within a trilogy of outsider 'voices' - can be found at:
